Common and John Legend Win Oscar for “Glory”

Watch Common and John Legend perform their collaboration “Glory”, winner of Best Original Song at the Academy Awards.

Common and John Legend can now be crowned Oscar winners after their joint venture “Glory” won the award for Best Original Song. “Glory” appeared in Selma, the Martin Luther King biopic which chronicles the activist’s campaign for equal voting rights which culminated in an epic march.

The two musicians performed “Glory” and recieved a standing ovation, shortly before accepting the award with a speech which highlighted the themes of the film – police brutality and voting rights.

“Glory” already has a Golden Globe award and beat artists Adam Levine, Rita Ora, Tegan and Sara, and Glen Campbell in its category.
