Lil Wayne blasts Young Thug’s naked album cover in the middle of his gig, asks fans to boycott his music
Well, looks like the rumours were true. Lil Wayne interrupted his own performance to throw shade at Young Thug and the album artwork for Tha Barter VI (formerly Tha Carter VI). The album cover raised a few eyebrows due to the nude pose of Thug. In the video uploaded to YouTube, Wayne addresses the crowd and says:
“Before I go any further, I want y’all to do me a favour: Stop listening to songs of n****s who pose naked on their mother-f**king album covers.”
The crowd are heard whooping while Weezy’s entourage can be seen laughing in the background.
There has already been feuding with Birdman and Cash Money, resulting in a lawsuit. It doesn’t surprise us that Lil Wayne and Young Thug are at loggerheads; Young Thug often attends events with Birdman and announced the title of his upcoming project as Tha Carter VI.
Erm, hello? Thug said he wanted to pay ‘homage’ to Weezy, who wasn’t happy at all. It became a family affair when Reginae Carter (Wayne’s daughter) tweeted indirectly to Thugga with a sour taste in her mouth.
Since then, Thug has had to change the title to Tha Barter VI because he is being sued over the original title. We wonder: who would sue?
Thug has been incredibly active on social media during the beef and hasn’t hesitated to let fans know where he’s at with Wayne. In one video, the rapper announced the mixtape title change. He also addressed the Weezy diss in a more recent video, saying:
“If you going to be a founder or a leader and respect when people look up to you, be that. If you going to criticise be that. But don’t mix your feelings, n***a. That s**t weak.”
The sentiment was lost, however, when the 22-year-old posted another instagram video, announcing the first ‘Barter 6’ gig will be played in Wayne’s hometown. His crew brandished guns in the background. Why can’t we all be friends?
