Relive Jhene Aiko’s near-death experience with her in the grave video for “Eternal Sunshine”
Jhene Aiko faces her haunted past in the new video for “Eternal Sunshine”. The singer addresses the camera as she floats disembodied above the scene of a car crash. The dark clips reflect on a car accident Aiko experienced in 2013 with her daughter, sister, and her daughter’s father O’Ryan.
As the traumatic scene unfolds, sudden flashes of the singer’s own memories of her daughter and childhood take over the screen. The dominant face is that of her late brother Miyagi Chilombo who died of cancer in 2012.
Aiko dedicates the “Eternal Sunshine” video to Miyagi at the end with the heartfelt message:
Someone pass us a tissue! The KeY Wane produced song is taken from the debut concept album Souled Out which was released under Def Jam in 2014. Aiko recently collaborated with Big Sean on his latest album on the tracks “I Know” and “Win Some, Lose Some“.
